About the position

Tjörnedala Art Hall is looking for an engaged art hall host responsible for reception, tours, and openings. You will be an important part of the interaction with our visitors and participate in planning and executing events while contributing to our communication efforts. The position is a scheduled hourly employment of approximately 400 hours/year, arranged by agreement.

Responsibilities

Our art hall host is often the first person our visitors to Tjörnedala Art Hall meet, making you a significant representative of the entire organization. You will welcome visitors to the art hall and inform them about ongoing exhibitions. You will manage the reception, responsible for its operation and development. The position includes cash handling, administration, and statistics management. You will assist in planning and executing events that Tjörnedala Art Hall regularly organizes throughout the year, such as openings and lectures. The position also includes tasks focused on the art hall's communication, art sales, and simpler administrative duties. You will contribute to and participate in Tjörnedala Art Hall's development work towards a sustainable future.

Qualifications and background

As a person, you are outgoing, service-oriented, and prioritize the visitor's experience. You are responsible, meticulous, and strive for quality in everything you do. You are flexible, enjoy organizing and arranging. You are proactive and can independently carry out activities. You have good communication skills, are experienced in conveying art during tours, and express yourself well in both Swedish and English. Knowledge of other languages and a B driver's license are advantageous. The art hall is a small workplace with two employees, and in the Tjörnedala Art Hall team, you will become an important colleague, both as a good team player and an independent worker. We welcome experience in sales and marketing as an important qualification.

The position requires a genuine interest in contemporary art and culture. Relevant education is advantageous, preferably with an art history background in visual arts, design, or crafts. Experience working with digital programs and digital media is essential to perform the job. Personal suitability is highly valued.

About Tjörnedala Art Hall, Baskemölla

The Eastern Skåne Artists' Group, ÖSKG, and Tjörnedala Art Hall are an artist-driven platform located in eastern Skåne. The ÖSKG association was founded in 1974 based on the concept of the Art Round and today consists of approximately 120 professional artists and is a non-profit organization.

At Tjörnedala Art Hall, we showcase a wide range of contemporary art, design, and crafts. Our activities also include educational programs for children and youth, as well as seminars, workshops, and other projects that reflect contemporary art and culture. In connection with Easter, we organize the annual Art Round and display a group exhibition with our members in the art hall.

The association's purpose is to contribute to the development of cultural life in eastern Skåne and to safeguard the interests of its members in the artistic field. The members are all residents of the municipalities of Kristianstad, Tomelilla, Simrishamn, Sjöbo, and Ystad. The association is based at Tjörnedalagården in Baskemölla and is supported by Region Skåne and Simrishamn Municipality. Main sponsor: Sparbanken Syd.

The employment is hourly based according to a schedule. Terms and salary according to collective agreement.

Working hours: Working hours are based on the art hall's opening hours. Weekend work, work during events and programs is included.

Start date: March-April 2026 as agreed
